Hello Running Friends,

Congratulations Dave Hurlbut and Vinton Cromer for qualifying for Boston this past weekend in Portland Oregon. How many other Running Friends have qualified for Boston this year? (Terry Curry, Nancy Foxen, Mario Garcia, Joe Timmsen, Kathy Whiteside, Daphne Donald, Bill Ryan, Eric Walsh, Mike Thomas, and Lee Hammerand.) Congratulations to ALL !

On Wednesday we will meet at the Y @ 5 p.m. Let's aim to run 5-7 miles.

Volunteers are needed for a cross country meet on Thursday, the 9th. If you are available and would like to help out, please contact Lisa Hughes. dlhughes@machlink.com

Muscatine is hosting a cross country meet on Thursday, October 9 at Discovery Park. The first middle school race starts
at 3:45 p.m. with Varsity, JV, and Fresh/Soph high school races starting at 4:30 until 6. We are in need of helpers to ensure
that the meet runs smoothly. I am especially concerned about having enough volunteers available at 3:30 or before to help
with parking/traffic control and having people out on the course to direct runners for the middle school races. Please let me
know if you can help at any time during the meet.

This Saturday is the 5k MHS Boy's Cross Country Race at Discovery Park @ 9 a.m. Hope to see you there !

This Sunday is the 5k or 10k Nancy Kapheim Memorial Classic in Rock Island @ 8 a.m. If interested in carpooling, be at Farm and Fleet at 6:30 a.m.

I want to wish Tony Carl "GOOD LUCK" at the Chicago marathon this Sunday !
