from the Lyon Den

Hello Running Friends,

The last week of August brings with it two special birthdays :

Happy birthday Joe Timmsen (August 27) and Peggy Bailey (August 30)!

Our weekly practice runs :

Wednesday (track) and Thursday (streets) @ 5 p.m. Meet at MHS.

Saturday... you have a choice. Some of us are meeting at Farm and Fleet @ 7:30 a.m. to carpool to Sunderbruch Park in Davenport to run trails. We will be back to Muscatine sometime around 11. Paula Gillespie and others are meeting at the Y @ 8 a.m. to run here in town. Afterwards, everyone is invited to the Button Factory for lunch @ 1 p.m. Those of you that are going to St. Charles, we will be discussing the final plans for our trip. Anyone interested in running the St. Charles marathon or half marathon, it's not too late. The deadline for registration is September 7th.

Sunday morning @ 8 a.m. Let's meet at MHS. On Sunday morning, Steve Hammann is traveling to Fairfield, IA to run 50 kilometers (31 miles) of trails... unless he decides to run the 50 mile course instead. Go Steve !

On Monday, September 1st (Labor Day):

Charles Potter and Joe Timmsen (?) are running the Dubuque half marathon. A 5k is also offered. Anyone interested in joining them?

Mario Garcia, Nancy Foxen, and I are heading to Bettendorf for the 7:30 a.m. Run with Carl 5k / 5 mile race. We will be leaving from Farm and Fleet @ 6 a.m. if anyone would like to carpool with us.

Keep Running ! Keep Smiling !

Teri
