2nd Annual July 4th Migration

The first alarm clock went off at 2:15 a.m. His name is Reece and he boldly stated that the noise in his room was annoying him!! I was glad I had another hour to sleep before getting up to get ready for the 2nd annual July 4th Wildebeest Migration to Grandview.
I was out the door by 4:00 am and met up with Terry Curry. We ran downtown heading towards Musco. We had to jump some fences and dodge a few cars we thought were driving a little erratically but made it to Musco well before the 5:00 starting time.
The rest of the runners showed up, Joe, Teri and to our surprise Chuck! The five of us started out down the dark, busy road towards the generating station. A couple of miles down the road Chuck announces he left the water running in the shower and needed to go back home to turn it off!! I was a little freaked out...who leaves the shower on and forgets about it? Well, we were down to four runners.
A few more miles down the road and we pick up another runner. Marty Hills. Back to five Wildebeest. We stopped at the road where we turn to go to Grandview for a quick picture, of course! And start our final journey to Grandview. Our sagwagon, Lavene, is on the look out for the dog that chased us down last year. No signs of the beast. We think maybe he died over the winter (chasing Wildebeests, no doubt). We decide we will tackle the steep hill and then reward ourselves with a quick drink. On down the road we get our picture taken at the "Grandview" sign and head on over to the park.
The 2nd Annual July 4th Migration to Grandview was a lot of fun and lots of laughs! We missed having Kandice along but decided being pregnant was a good enough excuse! I can't tell everything about our journey because as you know....what happens on the migration, stays on the migration!! But just to let you know, there were no new entrants to the pukers club. I'm going to get there....someday!!

Keep running! Keep smiling!
