Hello Running Friends,

Snow, snow, and more snow ! As long as there is snow / ice on the ground, we will not have the pleasure of running with "fair weather" runners such as Paula Gillespie. (Unless we get on a treadmill at the Y next to her.) Paula, we miss your smiling face and fun conversation ! There are others that have not joined us lately, I assume it is for the same reason...the harsh weather. I am hoping the weather warms up soon and melts the snow and ice. Fernando P., Lisa L., Linda S., Sue C., Monica H., and more... we miss you !

There are less than 6 weeks until the St. Louis marathon. We are scheduled for a long run (20 miler) this weekend and another long run the weekend of March 16. We will do both long runs on Sundays. This Sunday, we will remain in town, running through Kent Stein Park, the riverfront path, Weed Park, and Discovery Park until we have our miles in. Here is Nancy Foxen's plan for us on our final long run on March 16th :
Hey all...
For our long run on March 16th (Palm Sunday), we are scheduled for a 20 mile run. It's the last one before the marathon. If any of you want to travel out to Ia City/Coralville area with me for that run, you are more than welcome. Change of scenery might be nice. There are some pretty good trails (paved)- 2 trails that have decent hills in them, and the South route is FLAT... and the owner of Running Wild sets water out at miles 2, 5, and 8, so you don't have to worry about carrying water with you. The group run starts promptly at 7:00. So, leaving Muscatine at 6:00 am would be when we should leave to make it there in plenty of time. I was thinking, if you are interested meet at the old Menards building at 6:00. (should be okay to park there, right?) Let me know if you are interested in coming along.
Nancy Foxen
*** I'm guessing the weather will be decent that morning, with Spring approaching. If the weather becomes nasty, we will adjust our plans._____________________________________________________________

Everyone is welcome to join us. If you do not wish to run the entire distance, join us for 3, 4, or 5 miles.
