A message from Joe Timmsen about the race in McNabb :

I don't know if anyone is interested in the Fatass 50k in McNabb IL on Jan 10th. I was going to do it but may save my vacation time instead (possibly). Steve H. , Dave, and I did it last year and there were 5 or 6 people from Cornbelt that did this as well. It's close, it's cheap (I tried to give the RD $5 to cover for pizza and aid and he refused it), and it's an easy 50k. I believe there is an old race report on Stacey's blog if anyone is interested in it.

have fun,

joe

A message from Steve Cannon :

Hey there Friends,

2009 was a remarkable, life changing year for me. I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your friendship and support of "the run to cure cancer". Both mean a lot to me. I wish you and your families all a happy, healthy Christmas.

Wish I could have made the Xmas Jog and Bash. Can't wait to see the pics. Went out for my own little jingle jog just to be in the spirit yesterday. Look forward to our running paths crossing in 2010. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all the Muscatine Running Friends. What a great group!!

I'd like to ask your assistance. I was recently chosen as a Goal 0 team member (www.goal0.com). They are holding a video contest, "What Powers You" which I entered to spread the message in the fight against cancer. First place is 2 round trip to anywhere in the world and some awesome schwag. So, if you would like to help me promote my video that would be awesome. There are only five submissions and whoever gets the most 5 star ratings and favorites win. If I win this thing I am going to donate all the prizes to the Lance Armstrong Foundation to be put to the best use possible. What do ya think??? Will you help me promote my submission??? Send this to everyone you know. Let's make someone's dream vacation come true!!!!! Here's the page to go favorite and 5 star ( you click on the favorite and then also click on the 5th star bottom left below the video) http://bit.ly/5aYQVo
Thank you all for your help and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

A message from Dave May : (Thanks, Dave !)Menard's has "Winter Trax" traction aids that you put on your running / walking shoes for icy conditions. They are on sale until December 27. They have lots of them. Just inside the door near the shopping carts. http://www.asseenontv.com/prod-pages/wint_trx_ontv.html

These are the same design (coil springs) as the "Yak Trax". Menards are a lot cheaper $ 7.99 ( after $5.00 mail in rebate ) compared to almost $30.00 on-line at different places. http://www.yaktrax.com/testimonials.aspx
