Good luck to Becky Zeck and Tony Carl ! Becky is running a marathon in Madison, Wisconsin and Tony is running a marathon in Rochester, Minnesota. (Both are running on Sunday, May 25th.) Have a wonderful time !

Marathon to Marathon is less than 4 weeks away. If there is anyone interested in joining us, please let me know and I will save you a room at the Amerihost hotel. We will be having a Storm Lake meeting at the Button Factory @ 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 31st to discuss final plans.

I have some news to pass on. Stacey sent me an e-mail announcing that Kandice Tjebkes is carrying twins... a boy and a girl ! Congratulations Kandice and Jeff !

More news... Nancy Shell has been keeping very active. She walked / ran in the Relay for Life on Friday night through early Saturday morning. With just a couple of hours of sleep, she ran the Marion Arts Festival 5k. Later that day, she met with her sister and walked a 10 mile training course. On Sunday morning, she ran 11 miles with our group and then later went hiking at Wild Cat Den. Joe Timmsen claimed that she deserved an award... I believe Joe called it an "Over-achiever" award. Nancy claimed Joe deserved it for all of the ultras he participates in. I had to be the judge and ruled them both to be deserving of the OVER-ACHIEVER awards ! Nancy and Joe, you are doing great !

Last Sunday, May 18th, Mario Garcia ran the Green Bay marathon. He did EXCELLENT ! He finished in 3:30:59. Way to run, Mayito !

Carlos... have a happy and safe trip to / from Venezuela this week.

If you haven't been to the Running Friend's blogsite lately, check it out. http://runningfriends.blogspot.com/ Stacey, you are doing an amazing job. Thank you !

Keep Running ! Keep Smiling !

Teri

The top picture is from Friday night's Relay for Life at MHS. We ran 5 miles around the track for support of the cancer survivors and in the memory of the loved ones we have lost to cancer. Thank you everyone !

The middle and last pictures are from Saturday's (before and after)group run around town. We ran down to the boat show at the riverfront to take a look. Some returned later to enjoy the festivities. Charles Potter (a.k.a. Voice of Muscatine)spent a large portion of his day working ... interviewing and reporting on the activities at the riverfront. Great day for a boat show ! GREAT DAY FOR A RUN !
